As I have mentioned before, I’ve set myself a goal of building a map from data extracted from an open data catalogue. And the way to make something complicated is to figure out how to build the simple parts together. And with that, let’s build layer groups into a Leaflet map using this tutorial as a guide. (The example’s code doesn’t quite jive with the example given and you have to swap the names of some variables to make it work!)
I made a simple map of the neighbourhood of Ford City with two layers: one of bus stops (not all of them, just four) and mailboxes (all of them, just two).
I’ve started uploading the code behind these maps to a mappings repo on github. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll figure out how to push these to my ISP so I can point to live examples rather than screenshots.
